About the Friends

The Friends of Governor Dodge State Park are a group of volunteers working together to support recreation, education and environmental stewardship in the park. We love this park and think it has a lot to offer, so let us show you the beauty that is Governor Dodge State Park!

Current Fundraisers

We receive funds from many sources, including:

• Donations and membership dues
• Sales of items at the concession stand
• Photo prints of the park
• Collectable pins
• *NEW* Firewood bundles
• Commemorative items like kiosks and benches

Future Goals

We would like to build more information kiosks for the park. This would include raising funds for materials. The first location was be the Deer Cove area, where there is a small rock shelter. The kiosk turned out great and we are considering making more. By building these kiosks, we will help educate visitors about the history and significance of the park. Paying for a kiosk would make a great commemorative gift!

We are making plans for the 60th birthday of the park. We have many ideas and could use your help to implement them.

Candle Light Ski

Every year, the Friends host a candle light ski in the park. It is a great time to get out and see the park when the ice is glittering and the sounds are hushed.

You'll see us there around the campfire, serving up warm drinks and friendly tales or taking time out to enjoy the trails.
