Candlelight Events

Every year, the Friends host a candle light ski in the park. It is a great time to get out and see the park when the ice is glittering and the sounds are hushed.

You'll see us there around the campfire, serving up warm drinks and friendly tales or taking time out to enjoy the trails.

Candlelight Ski

The next Candlelight Ski has been scheduled! We are planning to once again offer a Candlelight Ski at Governor Dodge State Park. Save the date for January 17th, 2009 from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM. Once again, we are planning to hold the event in the Cox Hollow Beach/Concession area. Check back later to get more updates.

A workday is scheduled for January 8th, 2009. We'll be assembling the candle bags and planning the final details of the ski. Bring a friend.

Fall Candlelight Hike

2008 marked the 60th Anniversary of the park and as one of the events commemorating the occasion, we held a special fall Candlelight Hike. We named it "Moon of Falling Leaves" and it was a big success. The event included a Naturalist hike, games, food and fun. Located on the beautiful Lakeview Trail, hikers enjoyed the wonder of autumn as they strolled through the forest.
